An easy way to find out if that is the issue is. check that GD Stash does use the local save dir. do not have GD running. change a char in the tool, save and exit the tool. start the tool again and load the char. if the changes are still there, GD has to also load the changes.

For anyone fighting with regular Grimarillion crashes, turning off Auto Item Tooltips under Interface settings (which show item description on mouseover) fixed the stability issue I've been having lately too. I'm running v74a and recently upgraded from v73c and at least those versions had this issue.
